Why the Term Is Nine Years
A workmanship guarantee exists to catch preparation and application faults, and those show up early. Peeling, blistering and coating separation almost always appear in the first few winters, not in year eight. Setting the term at nine years puts the whole realistic failure window well inside the cover, so the question of whether a fault falls just inside or just outside the term does not arise.
The local climate is the other reason the term is worth stating plainly. The UV index here runs high right through the summer, daily temperature swings of forty to fifty degrees are normal, and the air is dry enough that surfaces flash off fast.
